Great gifts for your Easter giving moods
In America, Easter is a neo-Christmas holiday that serves as another gift giving opportunity (not so much in the United Kingdom, where presents are limited to pre-packaged chocolate eggs and candy bars). So we figured: there are tons of “must have” lists at Christmastime; why not Easter?
Here are the Top 5 “must have” items in our household (but before you go shopping, don’t forget the coupons).
5 - Dell XPS desktop PC. Our laptops are aging (at least by computer standards - mine turned four last Christmas) and the time has come to replace them with a desktop gaming monster. We’ve been looking at the Dell XPS, complete with the powerful GeForce 8800 graphics card. Dell always has tons of offers on their hardware, so make extra-sure that you look around for Dell coupons first.
4 - Trip to Channel Islands. Easter makes you think of spring, which makes you think of summer, which can only mean one thing: vacation! The Channel Islands, specifically Jersey, are lined up as our destination of choice this year, pending an anticipated summer vacation Expedia sale.
3 - Baseball apparel. Spring Training is in full swing (pardon the pun) so that means it’s time to upgrade our baseball stuff for the 2008 season. Our family’s beloved Orioles may not win it all this year, but we’re still geared up for the start of the season. Jerseys from “baby birds” like Adam Loewen are at the top of our household’s MLB wish list.
2 - Candy, candy, and more candy! Come on, it’s Easter. If that’s not an excuse to gorge yourself on jellybeans and chocolate, what is?
1 - Asus Eee PC. Again, the laptop issue rears its ugly head, but this time we’re looking for something ultra portable; it doesn’t need to be the fastest PC on earth. The Asus Eee is our new techy crush and looks to be the absolute answer. At a budget-friendly price of $400 for the full system (complete with lots of open source software goodies and a custom Linux OS), if we find a good Best Buy deal then the Asus Eee will be all but on its way to our door. This PC is a can’t miss and we love it to bits, but a great deal would make it that much sweeter.
