Time to give up on whitening toothpastes?
Despite having lots of experience in sales and marketing and therefore knowing exactly how things work, I’ve been stuck in the marketing machine for years. For the past decade, I’ve been purchasing “whitening” toothpastes - the foaming crystals, the blue strips of cleanliness, added ingredients, this and that - and I continue, to this day, to do so, knowing full well that it’s never made a bit of difference for my teeth.
I don’t even entertain the possibility that the whitening toothpaste has canceled anything out - i.e. that I’d be much worse without it. I know I wouldn’t. Moreso, I’m not your average adult; I don’t drink a lot of coffee, I don’t smoke, and sugar is probably my only weakness. So, why the crutch?
For what it’s worth, there are other teeth whitening treatments out there, such as Zoom whitening. You have to go to a dentist to get it - no at-home treatments here - so it’s definitely a more serious step on the road to pearly whites. It works by applying a special gel to your teeth (via a tray) and then shining a special light onto your teeth to activate the gel. Some say it hurts; others say it’s brilliant (pun intended).
Only time will tell if I’m ready to go to this next stage in the teeth whitening process. I tend to be a passive beauty insider, in that I can tell you all about any procedure but have never gone to get any of them.
There are lots of things I’d like to change about my physical self (of course!) and some great, white teeth are on the list. Whether I ever dig into that list and begin getting some first-hand experience, however, is another issue entirely.
So… Zoom whitening - Should I buy into this too?
